MSDR Customer Spotlight: The Linden Store

Mark LeBrun is the third-generation owner of The Linden Store, a delicatessen that has served mouth-watering sandwiches, homemade soups and more to their customers on Linden Street in Wellesley, Massachusetts since 1933. The Linden Store is also a long-time customer of Merchant Services Done Right, and says he plans to work with us for the rest of his career.

“I love working with owner-operated companies like mine,” says Mark. “They just give more to what they do.” Of Merchant Services Done Right founder Caleb Avery, Mark says, “I can always count on him, no matter what. He picks up every time I call, and sends me whatever resources I need to solve any problem right away”

“We Need The Right Credit Card Company”

Most lunchtimes, The Linden Store has a line of customers out the door and around the corner. Mark estimates they will swipe 300 or more credit cards in less than an hour and a half each day. With such an enormous amount of volume, Mark relies on Merchant Services Done Right to not only provide a reliable solution, but a fast and efficient one as well.

“We need the right credit card company,” says Mark. “We have three registers running constantly, and we don’t have time for anything to go wrong. I have to source the best in the industry.”

Merchant Services Done Right has “gone above and beyond,” says Mark. “At each register, we have two terminals. God forbid something goes wrong with one of them, but if it does, we have the other.” He also notes that Merchant Services Done Right is quick to fix any problem that arises.

And Other Ways to Make Business Better

More than just providing credit card processing services, Mark also notes that Merchant Services Done Right works with him to create efficiencies and ideas to make his business better, even if it goes against conventional wisdom.

“We’re a little old school, and we manually input numbers and use the terminals ourselves,” says Mark. “At one point we thought about moving to a POS model and had a lot of people analyze it, but with Caleb’s help we decided against it. Seconds mean a lot to me, and Caleb was honest and ready to admit that our current way was best for our business. What we were doing was working, and Caleb told us there was no reason to change it. He just tries to find the most effective way to run your business.”

Merchant Services Done Right also worked with Mark to create a customized gift card program, using their long-established branding to design and produce a line of custom gift cards. The perfect gift for teachers, students and more, the Linden Store now sells thousands of them every year.

“They Are Very Efficient, Very Transparent”

As a family owned business that values simplicity and transparency, Mark is quick to say that Merchant Services Done Right operates in the same way.

“They are very efficient, very transparent, and there are never any hidden charges or fees,” Mark says. “Their statements are so user-friendly, they’re dummy-proof.”

More than that, Merchant Services Done Right is always willing to take the time to evaluate other offers Mark receives from other credit card processors — and beat them.

“A lot of people won’t tell their processors when someone else comes in trying to take their business, but I do,” says Mark. “Caleb will take a look at their statements and proposals and rip it apart. He’ll find out where they’re loading hidden fees. When it sounds too good to be true, it always is.”

“I will always choose to create a long-term relationship with people that works,” says Mark. “I care about the quality of my product with every inch of my business.”

A True Example of a MSDR Company

Of Mark and the Linden Store, Caleb says they are a staple of the community that Merchant Services Done Right is proud to work with.

“It’s a family business through and through,” says Caleb. “They are a pleasure to work with, and a true example of a Merchant Services Done Right company. We are proud to call them a client and strive to earn their business every day.”
